Cooking school

My daughter loves to cook. She however never gets to because her cooking means huge mess for me to clean. But i have decided to get over myself and let her learn. Its far more important for her to have this experience as a young lady than it is for me to worry about a big to do per say.  So here we are her first lesson - carrot cupcakes. She did such a wonderful job.

She worked so hard not to get the shells in, and she didn't get any in the mix.

She decorated all her own cupcakes. It was important to her to get every cupcake to her perfection.

I have to say this girl gets her love of color from her mama. I will try to add color to anything. The one to the bottom left is a special made cupcake decoration just for her daddy this is his birthday week. In our house we get to celebrate for a week, it only comes once a year so we am getting as much out of it as we can. This concept caught on quick with the children especially.

I am partial but I think she is beautiful! And her cupcakes we so yummy!

Have an awesome week!

Happy 4th of July!

I hope you all have a wonderful 4th of july, with lots of good food and fireworks. We are under a burn ban so we will be headed out to watch them on the water tonight, instead of doing them ourselves.

And of course grilling out, because whats a 4th celebration without grilling. Enjoy!

Pinterest

I am in total love with Pinterest. This place is amazing. I am pinning everything that I love.

You have to be invited to participate in this amazing place. SO I am giving away 4 invites to of course 4 lovely commenters! Because I want to share the love with you all. I'm sweet like that, just don't tell my husband i am sweet. : ) Just kidding.

Here are some of my pin's. 1, 2, 3, 4. Just a few of the things I love.

Something else.....

My aunt painted this wonderful little picture for my many moons ago. And my mom has been carrying it around from house to house for me for all these years. Well it made it to my house just a few weeks ago, and now my daughter has it. She gets something that was made special for me as a child.

Please excuse my photography skills on this one it was a dark room.

My aunt also made me a sweet little tea cup when I was two, and just a few years ago I was reunited with it also. Such precious little gems to me. I love handmade items and especially ones made just for me. I am a sentimental sap.

Enjoy your weekend and don't forget to comment for a Pinterest invite.

YO-Yo

I gave it a go with a yo-yo. I have to say it was really easy and much faster than i expected. My daughter was in need of some really cute clothes. I am always making clothes and bows for others and hardly have time for her stuff. SO i made time and made her some really cute stuff. First a tutorial on how to make a yo-yo cause I know y'all want one with there being so few on the internet. ; )

Cut yourself out some 8' fabric circles. No need to be perfect as you can see mine are not. Make smaller circles if you want to stack or just need different sizes.

Set your sewing machine to the longest stitch then overlap a little.

Looks like this when pulled tight.

I embroidered a shirt for her. Snagged it at Walmart for $4.

Hand stitch it to the shirt.

Here's the finished product. I am really happy about how this turned out especially for my first time doing this!

I had an extra one so i made her a hair clip. I just hot glued a alligator clip to the back and hot glued a button on top.

Thats it so simple yet so pretty. Enjoy! Let me know if you find this tutorial helpful to you.

Skate craze

That word craze means wildly insane or excited about something. I would hardly say that i was all those things about skating but my kids were. My husband had a pretty good time to. I decided not to skate due to the fact that one fall would have put me in bad shape. (I have back issues) So I watched. Im telling you the adults at the skating rink are hilarious. As soon as a pair of skates hit their feet they are blasted back to the 8th grade. I don't really people watch but if you do thats the place to go. There was a man there in a see-through muscle shirt. He was the best to watch. I could be seen laughing out loud for no apparent reason to bystanders. One couple in there late 30's were skating one behind the other holding hands. Haha, see I told you it was hilarious.

Anyhow on the the children's fun.

Gabe got ahold of 1000 tickets and snagged these babies. They light up.

Check out those socks. Sweet girl knows how to rock out the skating (all her idea) She had a hard time at first but by the end she was dancing while rolling.

K was rocking and rolling the whole way through. He loves skating. He even made new friends which is not surprising the child can make friends with anyone. He gets that from me.

The karate chop to keep upright. I love this one.

Watch out here comes dad. The kids requested this fathers day weekend activity and he obliged. He's such a good sport.

What will you be doing this fathers day weekend?

Other news!

I will be giving away some free items form my Etsy shop once i hit 100 followers. So hope on over to the follow button and get yourself signed up.

Have a great weekend!

All the cheerleaders were so cute doing there routines the worked so hard to learn all week long.

Please excuse my absence i have been having technical difficulties at my house with the internet. I am super irritated at the people at Cox.

All things baseball

Around our house right now baseball is pretty important, and rightfully so our two sons are playing their heart out. Our oldest K is 9 and playing for the Boston Red Sox through the Y. He is a really good player. Our youngest Gabe, 3 is playing for the Cubs. Its called Wee ball for the little guys. He is just the cutest going after the ball, and making a run for the base or sometimes just standing there. He has even been known to hit the ball and fetch it himself.

Or do this.

He can hit it far for a little fellow.

My oldest is serious about this business. Theres no messing around in his field. His coach is the best. He knows everything about baseball and is super enthusiastic about playing. We could not have ask for a better coach for K. Little Gabe's coach is awesome to, very patient man.

He really enjoys playing pitcher and strives to be his best each time. Make a mama proud.

Coach dad to the right. Straight from work to coach he is awesomeness. K getting ready to bat.

Making a shift

I have been in dire need of exercise for a little bit. Well, last Wednesday i decided it was time to go all in. I went to Body Conditioning at my gym. Talk about wanting to pass out, puke, or fall on the ground crying. I did all three not really but i thought about each one and trust me if i could have gotten away with it without anyone noticing i would have. The next day I could barley walk I was so sore and miserable. I had told a friend i would come run with her group on Fri. at the class ( I had no idea I would be so sore). Well, this morning came, and i decided to go for the run. Hill one was brutal hill two my caves were on fire, hit three i decided i would never exercise again. But I did make it. I promised to show up again next Friday. And I had already promised to hit up the body conditioning again. Next week i will probably be kicking myself. But I have to start somewhere. What is it about exercising that just stinks all together. Am I the only person that feels this way? What do you think about all this?

If you are enjoying my blog please make yourself a follower. Its nice to actually see if people are interested in what i am talking about.

Enjoy your day!

Spring/Summer

So i have a Spring Wreath i made a couple of weeks ago. I totally fell in love with it. I couldn't even put it outside after all that work i put into it and it turning out to be wonderful. See have a look:

I thought it would be an easy task, however it took me hours to make all those rosettes. It was well worth it in the end. Don't you think?
Here are the details of the rosettes. I will try to get a tutorial out next go round.

All that changes

This last week was spring break and the kids had a lot of fun. I tried to plan the whole week out to keep them busy. I successfully did that and drove myself crazy with the schedule being to full. Maybe this week there will be time for rest.

We took a ride to the river to try something new. My kids have never been with me. We normally go to the beach about once a week when the weather is hotter. The river is not that far from us either so we get the best of both worlds.

We also hit up the Exploreum in Mobile Al. Lots of fun for the kiddos. We will be hitting that spot up again.

My dear friend Allison, love this lady with all my heart! She is absolutely wonderful, not really sure how I would make it without her friendship. She keeps me grounded and focused.

Happy Wednesday to ya!
